How it works
Each skill is a self-contained capability built specifically for your business. We scope the skill, build it, test it on your real material, and document it so your team can use it without our help.
Day 1 - Scope
30-min callWe define what the skill should do, what input it needs, what output it should produce, and what your existing format looks like. You send sample artifacts (the kind of thing the skill should produce). We confirm the build is feasible in scope.
Days 2-4 - Build
Behind the scenesSkill written, tested against your real material, iterated. We build using SKILL.md format - Anthropic's standard - so it's portable and inspectable. You get a working artifact at the end of day 3 to review.
Day 5 - Handover
30-min walkthroughLive demo in your workspace. We walk through how to invoke the skill, what to send it, common refinements. You leave with the skill installed, documented, and ready to use.
Why custom skills, not templates
You could buy or download a generic “PDF generator” skill. Most don't know your brand, your formatting rules, your tone of voice, or your specific use case. They produce generic output that needs heavy editing - which defeats the purpose.
Custom skills are different. We build them on top of your AI Blueprint (or your existing context layer), so they already know your brand colours, your typography, your voice rules, your audience. The output is on-brand from the first run, not after three rounds of correction.

What's a "Claude Skill" actually?
A Claude Skill is a documented capability - written in a specific format called SKILL.md - that Claude reads automatically when it's relevant. Think of it as installing a specialised tool in your workspace. When you ask Claude to do that specific task, it follows the skill's instructions exactly.
It's an Anthropic-supported format. The skills you build are portable - they work in any Claude environment your team uses.
Do I need an AI Blueprint first?
Not strictly. You need an AI workspace that the skill can live in - that could be a Claude Project, a Custom GPT (with adapted format), or another context-aware AI setup. The Blueprint is the easiest foundation, but it's not required.
If you don't have any workspace yet, we'd suggest the Blueprint first. Skills are an extension layer - they need something to extend.
Can I build my own skills with your help?
Yes - that's actually a fine route for technical clients. We've worked with clients who want to learn to write their own skills, and we can structure the engagement as a build-with-you workshop rather than build-for-you. Same price, different format.
For non-technical clients or those who'd rather just have it done, the standard build-for-you format is faster and produces cleaner skills.
What outputs can skills produce?
Skills can produce text in any format Claude can output - markdown, HTML, code, structured data. With code execution enabled in your Claude environment, skills can also produce real files: PDFs, .docx, .pptx, .xlsx, .png images, .svg graphics.
The most common requests are branded PDF reports, presentation files, and structured documents like proposals or briefs. Whatever artifact your business produces repeatedly, there's a good chance a skill can automate the heavy lifting.
How is this different from just writing a long prompt?
Two things. First, skills are persistent - Claude reads them automatically when the task fits, you don't have to paste the prompt every time. Second, skills can include code execution, file generation, and multi-step processes that a single prompt can't handle cleanly.
You can absolutely build basic versions of skills yourself using long prompts. We build the more involved ones - the ones that need careful testing, edge case handling, and integration with file generation.
What if the skill doesn't work the way I want?
Skills go through a test cycle as part of the build. We run the skill against real material from your business and iterate until it produces output you're happy with. That iteration is included in the £497.
After handover, if the skill turns out to need adjustment in real use, minor tweaks are covered. Major scope changes (you want it to do something fundamentally different) become a new skill.
Will the skill keep working as Claude updates?
SKILL.md is Anthropic's documented format, designed to be stable across model updates. Skills built today should keep working as Claude evolves. We test with the current generation of models - if Anthropic releases something that changes how skills work, we'll let you know.
