Your AI drafts, and the sign-off that keeps catching the same things.
AI is already drafting the newsletters and posts your compliance sign-off reviews. Take the free three-minute Scorecard to see how ready your firm is.
What's already happening
Advisers, planners and accountancy firms are already using AI to draft the things that used to take longest: the newsletter, the LinkedIn post, the web page, the client letter. The drafting got faster. What it goes to next didn't - it still goes to your compliance sign-off, and sign-off still catches what it always caught.
What sign-off keeps catching
The same handful of patterns, over and over:
- Information sliding into advice - a general piece that ends up telling a particular reader what to do with their money, the line sign-off watches most closely.
- A claim stated without its other half - a performance figure with nothing said about the future being different, or a benefit with no mention that values can fall.
- A risk warning that's missing, buried three paragraphs down, or hedged into something that no longer warns anyone of anything.
- Certainty a piece of content can't actually offer - "will grow", "you'll pay less tax", "completely safe" - dressed up as a plain statement of fact.
None of that is a reason to stop using AI to draft. It's a reason to know, before sign-off tells you, which of your drafts are going to bounce.
The honest position
Whatever a firm uses AI for here, three things don't move: the person who signs content off stays in charge of it, nothing gets to call itself "compliant" or "approved" because nothing running in a chat window honestly can, and a risk warning or disclosure is written in your firm's own approved wording, never invented by a model standing in for it.
Not theoretical
This is the same discipline behind the Compliance Flagger and the regulated pack - a £39 self-serve skill that started as a custom skill for an adviser, and a firm-specific pack we scope on a call and build on a firm's own voice and approved wordings. The same craft runs the branded PDF reports for Fund Boards Council, a UK fund-governance body: a custom Claude skill that turns their Word draft into a finished, branded document in their house layout, every time, with nothing to fix by hand.
Where to start
Not every firm is in the same place with this, and guessing wastes both our time. The AI Readiness Scorecard is twelve honest questions about how you're using AI today, takes about three minutes, and gives you an immediate verdict - including an honest "not yet" if that's where you actually are.
